Everyone is Required to attend!

Frank and Caroline Mouris

Lecture with independent film makers The Mourises will show their Academy award winning animated short, Frank Film together with subsequent film, Frankly Caroline. Frank Film from 1973 is a compilation of images collected from magazines interwoven with two narrations, one giving a mostly linear autobiography and the other stating words having to do with the images, the story the first voice is relating, or neither. The soundtrack was created by Tony Schwartz.

How goes the 5-min idea journal project? Have you been keeping up with it? It can help you with your artist talk!

Also make sure you keep blogging! It is a major portion of your grade!

Artist talk/presentation
- Usually you will be introduced. You will need a 'Bio' for that. If you are not introduced in any depth you can give a 2 sentence history of yourself. (more if it is relevant to the artwork)
- Show images and/or the original artwork.
- Introduce the piece. What is it's title?
- Where did the concept come from? Influences? Connections to other artist or art movements?
- The medium is the message! What connection does the medium have to the idea behind the artwork?
- Talk about your process. Is the process meaningful to the conept?
- What does the piece mean to you? How does it connect to you personally?
- How are your viewers ment to interact with the piece? Where is the artwork ment to be displayed?
- Ask if there are any questions.

*Each of you will be making a short presentation of your piece to the class on the last day of class.
