Finishing up the Semester

Everyone will be presenting their projects during the final next Tuesday 8-11pm. You need the following for your presentation:

- a title for the work or individual works

- a 1-2 paragraph statement about the project or artist statement. This should answer the questions what how & why? What is your content? How does the medium you choose effect how we relate to the content? Why are you interested in this subject matter/

- digital images of the final piece(s). You can either photograph your physical work or save individual of your digital images jpegs 

- a place to present. Your presentation can be virtual(on a screen) or physical(installed in a location), or both



What you need to give me:

- digital images (jpgs) of your work labeled with your name saved in a folder labeled with your name.

- your statement saved as a .doc(x) or .pdf, labeled with your name.


- the link to your blog

In class Tue March 31st

What you should be doing in and out side of class:

1) Writing in your Idea Journal for 5 min each day
2) Posting about your project 3 times a week in your blog
3) Working on your art piece / design project / animation / video
4) Following and posting to your classmates blogs


Next week we will start to visit studio's. This means when we visit your "studio" you will need to present your project to the class and show us your work so far. We will discuss your idea and your work in progress to give you feed back. You are required to be up to date on the presenters social media site before each studio visit.  

We will be visiting Colleen and Nikki studio's in the painting circle next week.

Current Assignment for next Tuesday Feb 24th

You need to have a basic concept for your art project. You should know what art medium (drawing, painting, ceramics, ext..) you wish to use and what content (subject matter) you wish to explore. I expect your idea to evolve and change over the next couple months.

Project 1 the Idea Journal. 

To do this assignment you need a journal, a pen and 5 minuets a day. You are responsible for picking a time to spend "free writing" for 5 min. It should always be the same time each day and it has to be every day. Write whatever comes to mind. It does not have to be coherent nor does it need to follow any writing conventions. This is about getting words on the paper from your subconscious.

Welcome to Art 250. This is the blog. The blog is the center of information flow for the class. It is updated the night before each class. Check it before class to make sure you are prepared. What is this class about?

- This class is about teaching you the "job" of being an artist/designer. You will generate ideas, start, edit and finish an art/design project, create media of your process and progress and to disseminate you as an artist/designer into the world.
